In addition to the forms listed below, we are interested in work that defies or combines genres. We are open to a wide variety of (interviews, spoken word, video?) pieces, and while we can't guarantee that such a piece will be a good fit, we are open to suggestions. If your piece does not fit in the genres below, please first submit an email query describing your format/piece in 50-100 words.
Poetry: You may submit up to five poems at once. The poems should be attached to an email in a single file (.doc, .docx, or .pdf). Please use single space, 12 pt. font. Please include a cover letter and bio in the body of the email. Please do not include any identifying information in the document itself.
Prose: From the very short to the very long, we are open to all: fiction, short stories craft essays, creative nonfiction, memoir, etc. Please attach as a .doc or .docx file. Please use double space, 12 pt. font. Please include a cover letter and bio in the body of the email . Please do not include any identifying information in the document itself. If your manuscript is longer than 5000 words, please send a query letter first with a 100-200 word description of your piece.
Art: We are seeking cover art, internal art, and art for display on our website. Please send no more than 5 pieces as attached .jpg files. Please include a cover letter and bio in the body of the email. If your art does not fit within these specifications, please query us. We are open to creative solutions, particularly for art embedded in the website.
Simultaneous submissions are allowed; however, if a piece has been accepted elsewhere, please notify us immediately.
Previously published work will not be accepted. This includes work published online on a blog or personal website, or anywhere visible to Google (closed Facebook groups and sites which require a login to see the content are OK).
Submission acceptance authorizes first serial rights, as well as subsidiary rights to publish pieces electronically, archive on our website, as well as include in possible future anthologies. We retain the right to excerpt or quote for the purposes of marketing. The author, poet, or artist retains all other rights to their own work.
